Mordenkainen stands restored in his hidden Barovian mansion after recovering the memories that Darkon took from him. His staff and spellbook signal the power he says had been limited during his amnesia, while his guarded expression remains recognizably that of the prisoner the party once knew as Voss.

Canonical status

This is the canonical portrait and primary visual reference for Mordenkainen after Session 23. It preserves his continuity with Voss Portrait: bald head, close black goatee, stern angular features, penetrating dark eyes, weathered medium-brown skin, and lean but strong build. His rich robes, staff, spellbook, and mansion setting belong only to his post-revelation presentation.
