Scene

The ambush in Ablander’s quarters spills onto the stair. Ablander retreats with his fiery mace while the party presses forward, a restored acolyte kneels in pale light, and the High Sentinel’s illusory spider looms above them.

Artistic interpretation

The illustration condenses several consecutive moments of the battle. Ablander’s appearance, exact vestments, mace, room layout, and the visual form of his magic are interpretive. Rage’s axe differs from its usual single-headed presentation in this scene and should not replace his canonical weapon design.
