Rage presses a burning torch into a chair that only chars and smokes while Carver, Chip, and Ignatius wait beyond the doorway.

Scene

After discovering dried blood circling the lounge, Rage attempts to burn the Pale Lantern and orders the party outside. His torch burns, but the furnishings do not catch before the party departs.

Artistic interpretation

The torch, chair, blood pattern, abandoned lounge, and visible failure to spread are interpretive. The image deliberately offers no mundane or supernatural explanation for the failed fire.
