The Book That Remembered Rage

Rage reads his forgotten thoughts while Carver studies the immense index and the headless ghost Elzarath writes behind them.

Depicted moment

In Castle Avernus’s Library of Names, Rage reads thoughts recorded when he first entered Darkon—thoughts he can no longer remember. Nearby, Carver studies the great index while Elzarath’s robed body continues its endless work and his severed head floats watchfully above it.

Artistic interpretation

The image combines closely linked moments from the library encounter into one composition. The volumes’ writing is atmospheric rather than intended as legible text. Elzarath’s approved human face was informed by an older module illustration supplied as visual inspiration.
