Rage Breaks the Chain

In the Castle Avernus Torture Chamber, Rage brings his greataxe down on a restraint chain connected to the magic circle’s central copper brazier. As the link shatters, a fire elemental begins to form above the brazier, though its remaining chains still hold it fast.

Artistic interpretation

The precise circle geometry, brazier ornamentation, number and placement of the wall daggers, and the elemental’s incomplete silhouette are interpretive. The image represents the elemental as flame and smoke rather than a fully released creature because the party saw it only beginning to form.

Canonical status

Accepted Session 18 artwork. It preserves Rage’s single-headed greataxe, fur mantle, portrait cape, waist drums, and current trophy chain without replacing his established equipment. The fire elemental’s still-bound state and the single broken restraint chain are central to the scene.
