The House Helps Her Escape

Rage restrains one frightened servant among scattered caltrops while another runs up an animated carpet toward Ignatius and Carver clings to the staircase wall.

Depicted moment

Rage has caught himself in Carver’s caltrops while trying to restrain one terrified servant. A second woman races up the staircase as its carpet rises beneath her, Ignatius moves to intercept her at the landing, and Carver uses his tabaxi claws to climb around the trapped steps while the wall sconces ignite by themselves.

Artistic interpretation

The illustration compresses the two grapples, Rage’s collision with the caltrops, Carver’s wall-climb, the moving stair runner, and the self-lighting sconces into one readable chase. The servants’ appearances, manor portraits, exact staircase geometry, and sequence of the lights are interpretive staging; neither woman’s identity was established.

Canonical status

This is canonical Session 26 art. It preserves Rage’s towering scale and single-headed greataxe, Ignatius’s unarmed dragonborn form, and Carver’s adult tabaxi proportions and natural climbing claws. The moving carpet and sconces depict observed activity within the house without identifying its cause.

Alt text

Inside a decaying aristocratic manor, the towering bearded Rage stands among dozens of iron caltrops and holds a terrified dark-haired servant in a broad restraining grip. A second servant runs up a staircase whose worn burgundy carpet rises in a great wave beneath her. The horned black dragonborn Ignatius reaches toward the runner from the landing, while the brown-gray tabaxi Carver clings to the carved wooden wall beside the stairs as brass sconces flare to life.
