Carver Strikes the Werebear

Depicted moment
In the Castle Avernus Beast Prison, Carver fires a radiant true strike from his crossbow to end the party’s fight with the caged werebear. Lafing kneels in grief beside his slain female companion.
Artistic interpretation
The caged werebear’s exact pose, the prison architecture, and the unnamed female werefox’s appearance are interpretive. The image places Lafing and his companion out of the line of fire while preserving Carver’s single radiant crossbow strike as the decisive moment.
Canonical status
Accepted Session 18 artwork. It preserves Carver’s canonical artificer identity and Lafing’s accepted short humanoid-werefox scale. The narrow gold bolt represents Carver’s radiant true strike, not lightning, fire, or a separate magical weapon.

In a dark metal cage chamber, Carver, a brown-gray tabaxi artificer in a pointed hat and goggles, fires a compact crossbow. One narrow golden radiant bolt strikes the chest of a huge werebear falling against its cage bars. In the foreground, the short russet-and-cream werefox Lafing kneels in grief over the still body of another werefox in ragged prison clothes.
