Haunted Visage

At a glance

A probable creature name for the pale wandering ghost encountered at the Coachman’s Rest. Ignatius recognized its broad nature from his monastic studies but could identify it only as some variety of wandering spirit.

Observed properties

  • Appeared solid enough to sit, drink red wine, and converse.
  • Ate no food during more than an hour at the inn.
  • Stared through Carver in an unsettling, vacant manner.
  • Dissolved into ghostly white mist at will.
  • Could not be struck by Rage as it vanished.
  • May not be visible to everyone; Aldo was surprised that the party saw it.

Reliability

The apparition’s behavior was directly observed. Haunted Visage is believed to be its creature name, but the characters established only that it was some form of wandering ghost.
