The Temple and the Thirteen Worlds
Hook
Two Hundred Summers has offered two new paths toward understanding the domains: a frozen temple in Barovia and a watch leading to Klorr’s prison of thirteen orbiting worlds.
Evidence
- His account describes the Dark Powers as granting domains that imprison their lords, and suggests the possibility of “ungifting” one.
- He identified the Amber Temple, south of Vallaki, as the original manifestation of those powers in Barovia. Ravens cannot investigate its frozen winds.
- He claimed to have seen Klorr, where a world is sacrificed each hour and another takes its place; he reported seeing Castle Ravenloft on one of those worlds.
- Carver carries the pocket watch he gave the company as a travel talisman to Klorr.
- The party has not visited either destination or tested the watch. No choice between these leads and Strahd’s invitation was recorded.
Open questions
- What answers lie at the temple, and how can the company reach it safely?
- What would traveling to Klorr entail, and can the company return?
- Does either lead explain Darkon’s collapse or Azalin’s failed escape?
- What did the raven’s Ravenloft sighting mean?
Next steps
- Seek a route and preparation for the Amber Temple.
- Learn how to use the watch and what safeguards travel to Klorr requires.
- Compare the raven’s claims with the company’s other evidence, including Madame Eva’s possible insight.
- Decide which lead to pursue and bring discoveries back to the Keepers.
